Rear markings are red position lights that are fitted to the rear of trucks, trailers and semi-trailers. They make the rear edge of the vehicle visible to traffic behind and complement the tail lights and brake lights. On wide vehicles, multiple rear markings may be required to ensure the full width of the vehicle is visible in the dark.

Vehicles wider than 2100 mm must have rear markings in addition to the regular rear lights. Vehicles over 2600 mm typically require three or more rear markings in a row. The rules are in place so that other road users can assess the vehicle's width correctly when overtaking and in low visibility.
Rear markings should always be red. The location should be as high up as possible — typically on the roof of the truck cab, on top of the cabinet, or at the top of the trailer's rear structure. The height ensures that the lights are visible even when traffic behind is approaching.
The EU38RM is a compact standard model, often chosen for its simplicity and compact appearance. 2-LED and 3-LED are available with both integrated fixed cable and 2-pin Plug n Play connector. Multi-voltage 12-24V is standard to suit both trailers and heavier trucks.
