The Luxtar X-Series stands out with its patented side reflectors with side-mounted diodes. Unlike conventional booms where all the diodes point straight ahead, the side diodes direct light outwards and fill in the dead zones that conventional booms miss. The result is a wider and more even light pattern without compromising on range.
The Black Edition version has a matte black casing that provides a more discreet look compared to the original silver series. It is particularly suitable for dark cars where a traditional silver ramp would stand out too much.
Sizes and performance
The X-Series Black Edition is available in five sizes: X10 (31 cm, 5,127 lumens), X14 (38 cm), X18 (52 cm, 7,536 lumens), X20 (57 cm) and X30 (83 cm, 15,031 lumens). The X10 is E-marked and is ideal as steel plate ramp or in the grill. X20 is the best-selling size for passenger cars. X30 and X48 are suitable for larger vehicles and roof mounting.
Each size is available with a Driving light pattern (wide, even illumination) or Spot light pattern (long range, narrower cone). Driving suits most people. Spot is suitable for those who drive a lot on the motorway or want to supplement with wide EXTRA LIGHT.
Installation
The X-Series Black is mounted with bolt-on brackets located under the ramp. The shorter models (X10-X20) fit well with license plate bracket. Longer models are best mounted on a roof or bullbar. You will need a relay cable set and for newer cars one XBB DongleComplete packages are available under articulated ramp package.
The performance is identical. The difference is that the Black Edition has a matte black casing instead of silver. Choose Black for a more understated look.
The X10 and X18 fit behind the license plate or in the grille of most passenger cars. The X20 is the most popular size. The X30 and X48 fit larger vehicles and roof mounts.
Driving provides a wide beam that illuminates the entire road surface and ditch edges. This suits most people. Spot provides a longer range but a narrower cone and is best suited for motorway driving or as a complement to wide auxiliary lights.
