Low beam / High beam

Car low beam and high beam – LED, halogen and xenon. Upgrade your vehicle lighting with bulbs that provide better visibility, longer life and whiter light. We have bulbs for all common sockets and most car models from the 1990s onwards. Not sure which socket your car has? Use our car mapping to find the right one.

Low beam / High beam

The difference between high beam and low beam

High beam and low beam are two different types of vehicle lighting that serve different purposes. High beam provides a wide, elongated beam of light that illuminates the road from a long distance – intended for open roads without oncoming traffic. Low beam focuses the light downward and forward with a sharp upward cutoff that prevents dazzling oncoming drivers. Low beam is the lighting you drive with in most situations.

LED, halogen or xenon?

LED conversion are the most popular choice today. LED bulbs provide whiter, brighter light with lower power consumption and a lifespan of 30,000+ hours. Most cars with halogen sockets can be converted to LED without replacing the entire headlight. The result is a dramatic improvement in the light pattern.

Halogen are the standard technology in most cars. Halogen lights provide a warm, yellow light and are the cheapest option. They have a shorter lifespan – around 500-1000 hours. The price makes them a good choice if you want a quick replacement solution.

Xenon (HID) produces an intense, blue-white light with high brightness. Xenon lamps require a ballast to work. They are common as original equipment on cars from 2005-2018. If your car already has xenon, you need to change to xenon bulbs during service, not LED or halogen.

Find the right lamp

Which bulb you need depends on your car's headlights. The most common sockets are H7 (most common in European cars), H4 (combined high/low beam bulb), H1, H11, HB3/9005 and HB4/9006. You can use our car mapping or check your car's owner's manual.
