Car care in the right order – this is how you get the best results

Professional car care follows a routine. If you skip steps or do them in the wrong order, you risk scratching the paint or trapping dirt under the protective layer. Here's what the pros do:

1. Car wash – start by rinsing off loose dirt with high pressure. Use a pH-neutral car shampoo and a microfiber wash mitt. Wash from top to bottom. Two buckets – one with washing liquid, one with clean rinse water.

2. Degreasing – removes tar, insects, industrial deposits and other things that remain after regular washing. Necessary before polishing or paint protection – otherwise you lock the contaminants under the protection.

3. Polishing – smooths out and removes fine scratches, swirls and oxidation in the paint. Restores depth and shine. Always do this before applying paint protection.

4. Paint protection – wax, sealer or ceramic coating that adds a protective layer on top of the paint. Protects against UV, salt, bird droppings and provides water-repellent effect.

5. Maintenance – quick washes, detailers and spray wax that keep the protection alive between proper washes.
